Soap of the Earth was formed by husband and wife partnership Yvonne and John Stevens in 2001 to make the very best quality Olive Oil soaps and skin care. We have purposely remained a small family company, dedicated to maintaining the highest levels of quality.

Our main ingredient is Olive Oil, one of Nature’s miracles which acts as a natural moisturiser by "locking in" moisture into the skin. It also attracts moisture from the atmosphere to further prevent dryness.

We use Jojoba Oil in many of our products. This unique product closely matches the human sebum esters produced by our skin and will help to repair and heal damaged skin.

We also use Shea Butter derived from the nuts of the African Karite Tree. It has been used for centuries as an emollient, moisturiser and anti inflammatory agent.

Many other botanical extracts are used in our products including Calendula, Nettles, Hops, Spirulina (the world’s richest source of vitamins and nutrients), Aloe Vera (a natural healer), Cocoa Butter and Rosehip oil.

One product you will never find in our recipes is Sodium Laureth Sulphate, the chemical used to make the bubbles in almost every shower gel, shampoo, bath foam and toothpaste. This will strip the skin of natural oils and can irritate sensitive skin. Dry skin is more prone to infection and can lead to Dermatitis and Eczema.
